Good to Know · معلومات مفيدة
Alexandria sits on the Mediterranean about 220 km northwest of Cairo — roughly 2.5–3 hours by express train or car. It's milder and breezier than the capital, with a celebrated seafood scene. Much of the ancient city, including the Pharos Lighthouse and Cleopatra's royal quarter, now lies beneath the harbor and can be explored by divers.
