The "New Delta" is a massive land reclamation and agricultural mega-project in Egypt that aims to create vast, fertile farmland out of the desert. Launched in 2021, the project is located west of the Nile Delta in the Western Desert and is intended to boost national food security and increase agricultural exports

• Scale: The project seeks to reclaim and cultivate over 2.2 million feddans (about 924,000 hectares, or 3,500 square miles) of desert land.

• Location: The new farmlands are situated in the Alexandria and Beheira governorates, west of the traditional Nile Delta, with much of the development along the highway connecting El Dabaa to Cairo.
