In 2023 Egypt received 14.9 million international visitors, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, and tourism contributed an estimated 24% of GDP — with officials targeting 30 million annual visitors by 2030.

Egypt welcomed a record 15.7 million tourists in 2024 and climbed to nearly 19 million in 2025 — up about 21% — with revenues around $15 billion. A major driver was the long-awaited full opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November 2025, now home to King Tutankhamun's complete collection. With more than a hundred hotel projects under way and improved flight connectivity, Egypt is targeting 30 million visitors by 2030.
