تتطور رياضة السباحة في مصر بوجود الاتحاد المصري للسباحة منذ عام 1907، وهو الجهة الرسمية المسؤولة عن تنظيم الرياضات المائية المختلفة، بالإضافة إلى تواجد نخبة من الأكاديميات والمراكز المتخصصة التي تقدم التدريب وتعمل على اكتشاف المواهب، وهناك أيضاً العديد من الأماكن العامة مثل النوادي والمجمعات الرياضية التي تتيح ممارسة السباحة للمختلف الأعمار، مثل مجمع حمامات السباحة باستاد القاهرة.

Swimming is a popular sport in Egypt, with a rich history dating back to ancient times. The sport is governed by the Egyptian Swimming Federation (ESF), which oversees five aquatic disciplines: swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and open water swimming. The ESF is the oldest regional swimming organization, founded in 1907.
