New Alamein City

A gleaming new Mediterranean city of towers, marinas, and resorts rising on Egypt's North-West Coast — designed to live and breathe all year round, not just for the summer.

On Egypt's Mediterranean shore, near the historic battlefield of El Alamein, a dazzling new city is rising: New Alamein. With its cluster of tall seafront towers, marinas, beaches, and resorts, it is one of the flagship "fourth-generation" cities of modern Egypt. Designed as a complete, year-round city rather than just a summer escape, New Alamein aims to bring homes, business, learning, and tourism together on a stretch of beautiful coast — and to open up the North-West Coast as a vibrant new region.

Spread across roughly 200 square kilometres of coastline, New Alamein is instantly recognisable for its row of tall seafront towers — among the most striking residential high-rises on the entire Mediterranean. Alongside them rise marinas, beaches, hotels, and resorts, set out in clean, modern districts. Built near the site of the famous Second World War battle of El Alamein, the new city transforms a quiet stretch of the North-West Coast into a glittering destination.

Egypt's North Coast has long been famous for summer holidays, but New Alamein is designed to be far more than a seasonal getaway. As a planned "fourth-generation city," it combines permanent homes, businesses, culture, and education — including the Alamein International University — so that people can live and work there all year. The goal is to create a thriving, self-sustaining city that eases pressure on Cairo and spreads Egypt's population and growth toward the coast.

New Alamein is the cornerstone of a wider Western North Coast Development Project, which aims to turn this long, beautiful coastline into a major hub for tourism, business, and living. The city is being connected to the rest of the country by the new high-speed rail network, which will link it with Alexandria, Cairo, and beyond — helping transform a once-seasonal shore into a year-round centre of modern Egyptian life.
