Egypt assembles a widening range of products, from mobile phones and TV screens to home appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners. Egyptian companies have become major regional appliance makers, while global brands have set up local assembly to serve the market. A notable milestone has been the start of local mobile-phone assembly, aiming to supply phones domestically and reduce imports.

From that base, producers also export across the Middle East and Africa.
