10th of Ramadan Cityالعاشر من رمضان

The 10th of Ramadan was one of the first of Egypt's purpose-built industrial cities, established to move manufacturing out of crowded Cairo and onto dedicated industrial land. Over the decades it has filled with thousands of factories and grown into a substantial city with its own residential areas and services. It pioneered the model — industrial zones paired with housing — that Egypt has since repeated across its new cities.

The city hosts an enormous range of industries, including food processing, textiles, engineering and metal goods, building materials, chemicals, and electronics and appliances. This diversity makes it a vital centre of production for the domestic market and for export, employing large numbers of workers and contributing significantly to Egypt's industrial output.

Its location east of Cairo, on the corridor toward the Suez Canal and now near the New Capital, gives the city excellent connections for moving goods. New roads, the regional ring road, and rail links tie it into the national network. As one of the anchors of Egypt's manufacturing landscape, the 10th of Ramadan continues to grow and modernize as part of the country's wider industrial push.
