Egypt has decades of experience assembling vehicles for international brands and producing automotive components like wiring, glass, tires, and parts. The government is working to strengthen this base — encouraging deeper local manufacturing, attracting investment from global automakers, and raising the share of each vehicle that is made in Egypt. A larger, more integrated auto industry promises significant jobs and industrial know-how.

A headline goal is the revival of a locally built Egyptian car, with particular focus on electric vehicles (EVs).
