Heading north from Cairo into the densely populated Nile Delta, the Shubra–Banha Highway is a fast, modern, toll-free route that has transformed one of Egypt's busiest corridors. Built largely as an elevated road soaring above the crowded towns and farmland below, it lets traffic flow quickly between the capital and the Delta city of Banha, cutting journey times and relieving the heavily congested older roads that long served this vital region.

North Through the Delta · شمالًا عبر الدلتا
Cairo to Banha, fast.القاهرة لبنها بسرعة.
The Shubra–Banha Highway runs north from the Shubra area of Greater Cairo to the Delta city of Banha, a key gateway into the heart of the Nile Delta. Built as a fast, free (toll-free) elevated highway, it rises above the crowded landscape below, allowing uninterrupted high-speed travel where the old surface roads were choked with traffic. It dramatically shortens what was once a slow, frustrating journey.
Relieving Congestion · تخفيف الزحام
Room for heavy traffic.متّسعٌ للمرور الكثيف.
The Cairo–Delta corridor is among the most heavily travelled in Egypt, serving the millions who live in the densely populated Delta. By providing a high-capacity modern highway, the Shubra–Banha road relieves pressure on the older, overburdened routes, reducing congestion and improving safety. It is a clear example of how the national roads programme targeted the country's busiest bottlenecks.
Linking the Delta · ربط الدلتا
Connecting the heartland.يربط قلب البلاد.
As a fast spine into the Delta, the highway improves connections to the many cities and farms of Egypt's agricultural heartland and links onward to other new roads heading north toward the Mediterranean coast. Part of the broader decade of roadbuilding, it helps integrate the Delta — home to a large share of Egypt's population — more closely and efficiently with the capital.
