Egypt is a regional and Olympic force in combat sports — particularly karate and taekwondo — and these disciplines have delivered historic medals for the country.

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Feryal Abdelaziz won gold in karate kumite, becoming the first Egyptian woman to win an Olympic gold medal, while athletes in taekwondo and judo have added to the podium tally.
