Dokki, Mohandessin, Agouza and the Pyramids Plateau—Giza's established west-Nile districts.الدقي والمهندسين والعجوزة وهضبة الأهرام — أحياء الجيزة العريقة غرب النيل.
About This Market · عن هذا السوق
Giza governorate sits on the west bank of the Nile, directly across from Downtown Cairo, and is home to some of Greater Cairo's most established residential districts as well as the Pyramids of Giza themselves. This page covers the older, built-up parts of Giza — for the newer planned city of 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed, see that separate market page.
Dokki, Mohandessin, and Agouza are dense, walkable districts with a mix of residential towers, offices, and street-level shops, popular for their central location and Nile-side stretches. Haram and Faisal, near the pyramids plateau, offer a different character with lower-rise buildings and proximity to Giza's ancient monuments.
Highlights · أبرز المميزات
Giza's older, built-up districts sit directly across the Nile from central Cairo and share a similar apartment-led market — but with the added draw of the pyramids plateau itself for the neighborhoods nearest it. This is separate from the newer planned suburb of 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed further west, which has its own dedicated market page.
Giza's older districts are mostly apartment living in existing buildings, similar to central Cairo across the river. Dokki and Agouza tend to price at a premium for Nile views and central access; Mohandessin is dense and commercial; Haram and Faisal vary widely depending on distance from the plateau and main roads.
The Cairo Metro's Line 2 runs through Giza and connects Dokki-area stations to Downtown Cairo across the river. Haram and Faisal are served by the Faisal corridor and are a short drive from the Ring Road, useful for reaching 6th of October or the airport.
