Curving over one of its prettiest bays is the elegant Stanley Bridge, a modern landmark that has become one of the city's most beloved icons.

The Corniche is Alexandria's defining feature: a broad seafront boulevard running for many kilometres along the curve of the Eastern Harbour and the open Mediterranean. Lined with cafés, hotels, and grand old buildings on one side and the sea on the other, it is where the city comes to breathe. By day it offers sweeping views and sea breezes; by evening it fills with families and couples enjoying the sunset, the waves, and the timeless rhythm of life beside the water.

The most famous stretch of the Corniche is at Stanley Bay, spanned by the graceful Stanley Bridge. Opened in 2001, the bridge curves elegantly across the bay on slender supports, decorated with pairs of ornamental towers that have become a symbol of modern Alexandria. With the beach and bathing cabins below and the sea beyond, it is one of the most photographed spots in the city, beautiful by day and lit up romantically at night.

More than a road, the Corniche is a way of life in Alexandria. Running past landmarks from the Citadel of Qaitbay to the gardens of Montaza, it ties the whole seafront city together.
