Sahl Hasheesh is a large, purpose-built resort destination set around a beautiful crescent-shaped bay of calm, shallow water. It is lined with upscale hotels, a palm-fringed promenade, and an "Old Town" marina area with restaurants and shops built in traditional style. The gently shelving beach and clear water make it excellent for families and easy swimming, while a house reef runs along parts of the bay for snorkelling and diving straight from the shore. It is one of the Red Sea's most comfortable and self-contained resort areas.

A little further south, Soma Bay occupies its own scenic peninsula and has a reputation for active, upscale tourism. Its steady winds make it a renowned kitesurfing and windsurfing centre, while golfers come for its acclaimed championship golf course overlooking the sea. The bay is also known for a major thalassotherapy spa using Red Sea water for wellness treatments. Add a long sandy beach and the offshore Tobia reefs, and Soma Bay becomes a polished playground for relaxation and sport alike.

With warm, sunny weather for most of the year and sheltered swimming, Sahl Hasheesh and Soma Bay are excellent choices for a calm, comfortable Red Sea escape.
