Established to protect its spectacular coral reefs, it shelters a riot of sea life among walls, drop-offs, and gardens of coral that rank among the world's best dives. Above the water, mangroves, desert cliffs, and salt flats complete a rare meeting of sea and Sahara.

A Pioneering Marine Park · محميةٌ رائدة
Protected since 1983.محميةٌ منذ عام 1983.
Ras Mohammed was declared Egypt's first national park in 1983, a landmark in the country's conservation history. Lying where two gulfs and their currents meet, its waters are extraordinarily rich, supporting over a thousand species of fish and hundreds of types of coral, along with turtles, sharks, and rays. The park's rules — on anchoring, fishing, and access — have helped keep its reefs healthy and vivid, making it a model for protecting the Red Sea's underwater treasures.

Shark Reef, Yolanda Reef, and more.شارك ريف ويولاندا ريف وغيرهما.
Ras Mohammed is legendary among divers. Its most famous sites, Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef, offer dramatic vertical walls plunging into the blue, swept by schools of fish and patrolled by larger pelagics — with the scattered cargo of the Yolanda shipwreck adding a quirky highlight. Sites like Anemone City and the park's coral gardens brim with colour, and the shallows are superb for snorkelling straight from the shore. Warm, clear water and abundant life make it a bucket-list destination for anyone who loves the sea.

Where the Sahara meets the sea.حيث تلتقي الصحراء بالبحر.
The park is not only about diving. Along its shores grow mangrove forests that nurse young fish and birds, while inland lie salt marshes, the tranquil Magic Bay, and a famous geological crack left by an ancient earthquake. The Shark Observatory cliff offers sweeping views over the reef-fringed sea, and the whole headland is a haven for migratory birds. It is a striking landscape where golden desert, mangrove green, and turquoise water meet in one protected corner of Sinai.
