Sitting on the Nile's west bank opposite Cairo, Giza is best known worldwide for its pyramid complex — the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. Beyond the plateau, the governorate stretches from the fast-growing satellite city of 6th of October into the Western Desert and the palm groves of Bahariya Oasis.
تقع الجيزة على الضفة الغربية للنيل مقابل القاهرة، وتشتهر عالميًا بمجمع الأهرامات — آخر عجائب الدنيا السبع القديمة الباقية. وتمتد المحافظة من مدينة السادس من أكتوبر سريعة النمو إلى الصحراء الغربية وواحة البحرية.
