A capital city of this ambition needs its own gateway to the world, and the New Capital has one: the Capital International Airport. Operating since 2019, the airport gives Egypt's new administrative city its own direct air connections, separate from Cairo International Airport. Located to the east of the city, it is an important piece of the infrastructure designed to make the new capital a self-sufficient, well-connected hub for government, business, and visitors.

The City’s Own Gateway · بوّابة المدينة الخاصة
Direct links to the capital.روابطٌ مباشرة بالعاصمة.
The Capital International Airport opened and began operating in 2019, among the earlier pieces of major infrastructure to come into service in the new city. It provides the New Capital with its own dedicated airport, distinct from the long-established Cairo International Airport, allowing officials, business travellers, and visitors to fly directly to and from the new administrative city. As the capital grows, the airport is positioned to serve its expanding population and its role as a government and business centre.

Roads, rail, and air.طرقٌ وسككٌ وجوّ.
The airport is one element of an ambitious transport network linking the new capital to the rest of Egypt. Alongside it, new highways, an electric light-rail line, and a monorail connect the city to Cairo, and a planned high-speed rail line is set to tie the capital into a national network reaching the coasts. Together these links are intended to ensure the new city, though built in the desert, is fast and easy to reach by every means of travel.
A Self-Sufficient City · مدينةٌ مكتفية
Infrastructure for the future.بنيةٌ تحتية للمستقبل.
Having its own international airport reflects the broader goal of the New Capital to be a complete, self-sufficient city rather than a mere suburb of Cairo. With government, business, housing, services, and now its own air gateway, the capital is being built with all the infrastructure of a major city from the ground up. The airport is a practical and symbolic part of that vision of a fully independent administrative capital.
