محافظة الشرقيةSharqia Governorate

Guarding the eastern approach to the Nile Delta, Sharqia is one of Egypt's largest agricultural governorates, famous for Arabian horse breeding and the ancient ruins of Bubastis, temple city of the cat goddess Bastet. Its capital Zagazig is closely tied to Gamal Abdel Nasser, Egypt's second president.

تحرس الشرقية المدخل الشرقي لدلتا النيل، وهي من أكبر محافظات مصر الزراعية، وتشتهر بتربية الخيول العربية وآثار بوباستيس القديمة، مدينة معبد الإلهة باستت. ترتبط عاصمتها الزقازيق ارتباطًا وثيقًا بجمال عبد الناصر، الرئيس المصري الثاني.
