محافظة كفر الشيخKafr El-Sheikh Governorate

Created in 1949 from northern Gharbia, Kafr El-Sheikh stretches along Lake Burullus and the Mediterranean coast. It's Egypt's leading producer of long-staple cotton, home to the beach town of Baltim, and site of Tell El-Faraeen — the ruins of ancient Buto, one of Lower Egypt's earliest capitals.

أُنشئت كفر الشيخ عام 1949 من شمال الغربية، وتمتد على بحيرة البرلس وساحل المتوسط. تتصدر مصر في إنتاج القطن طويل التيلة، وتضم منتجع بلطيم الساحلي، وموقع تل الفراعين — أطلال بوتو القديمة، إحدى أقدم عواصم الوجه البحري.
