محافظة أسيوطAsyut Governorate

Sitting midway along the Nile Valley, Asyut has long been a crossroads of trade and faith. It was historically the terminus of the Forty Days Road caravan route from Sudan, and today draws hundreds of thousands of Coptic pilgrims each year to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary at nearby Dronka.

تقع أسيوط في منتصف وادي النيل، وكانت منذ زمن طويل ملتقى طرق للتجارة والإيمان. كانت تاريخيًا محطة نهاية درب الأربعين لقوافل السودان، وتستقطب اليوم مئات الآلاف من الحجاج الأقباط سنويًا إلى دير السيدة العذراء في درنكة القريبة.
